Nursery

We are excited to welcome you to our new nursery here at Easington Colliery Primary School.  In September 2020, we established high quality nursery provision within Easington Family Centre for 2, 3 and 4 year olds.

Our Nursery Offer

Two Year Old Children

We can offer four morning places and four afternoon places for two year old children from 8.30am to 11.30am and 12.15pm to 3.15pm. This will be for funded ‘Play and Learn’ places. If you think you are eligible for a funded place, please apply to the local authority or go onto the Durham County Council parent portal to apply online. If you receive a “Golden Ticket” in the post please bring this to school as your confirmation of funding.

Three and Four Year Old Children

We can offer 26 places to three and four year old children.  All children are eligible for a 15 hour funded place. Where parents are entitled, we offer the additional 15 hours to make a 30 hour place for three and four year old children, during term-times only.

To support children on the 30 hour offer, who attend for full days, we amend our afternoon session. Therefore we  offer a choice of 2.5 days at the beginning of the week (Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday morning) or end of the week (Wednesday afternoon, Thursday and Friday) to children accessing 15 hour, three and four year old places.

30 Hour Entitlement

Parents who meet the 30 hours eligibility criteria are welcome to apply for a place at our nursery. The school day for these children is 8.30am– 3.15pm with an extra 45 minutes at lunch time.

If you require any further information around 30 hours free childcare or you think you may be entitled to a free place, please visit the following link or speak to a member of staff  https://www.childcarechoices.gov.uk/

Lunch Times

Children who attend nursery over the lunch time period are welcome to bring either a packed lunch or can have a hot meal which is prepared in our school kitchen. The meals are priced at £2.50 per day and is payable in advance by ParentPay. We employ staff who support the children across the lunch time period.

Admissions

Applying for a nursery place

Parents can put their child’s name down on the school waiting list during the school year in which they turn two years old. Depending on age and space availability, they will be offered a nursery place the term after their third birthday.  All children will be offered a place in nursery during the school year in which they turn four years old. Places are allocated dependent on the age of the child.

Nursery Application

Please feel free to download our application form and email it to school, so we can add your child’s name to our waiting list.  Alternatively, you can print the form and bring it into school.

If you have any further questions or queries, please e-mail nursery@ecps.org.uk or call the school office on 0191 5270293.
