School Uniform
Children are expected to wear our ‘active’ school uniform.
We want school to be a place where pupils can be active and where they aren't restricted by their uniform. We also appreciate sensory issues and how restrictive tailored shorts, skirts and trousers can be, as well as collared shirts. In addition, we are always aiming to be cost effective, and we feel that the new active uniform will be more durable and cost less.
Below is a list of uniform that your child can wear:
ANY SCHOOL DAY:
- Plain blue jumper/ blue cardigan - with or without school badge
- Plain white t shirt (this can be dri-fit round neck, cotton round neck or a polo shirt)
- Plain dark bottoms (plain, unbranded, dark tracksuit bottoms, leggings, cycling shorts, casual shorts or tailored trousers, skirt, pinafore or shorts)
- Plain black trainers
Items should have minimal branding.
PE DAY:
- Plain, unbranded, black or blue hoodies or zip tops are allowed
- any trainers are suitable on PE days, they do not have to be black
The active uniform should make uniform easier, more comfy for pupils and more cost effective for parents.
Please ensure hoodies are only worn on PE days and these should be blue/black, with no heavy branding.
Uniform with the school badge on can be ordered online or in store at Little Gems (Peterlee) & also online from MyClothing:
https://theschooloutfit.co.uk/collections/little-gems
However, there is no expectation for pupils to wear clothing with the badge on. Plain blue jumpers and cardigans are available at all supermarkets/ shops like Matalan, for as little as £2-3.
We have a wonderful space and outdoor environment and we use this throughout the year. However, this means that outdoor clothing can get muddy or scuffed. Please do not buy expensive shoes and outdoor clothing, as it inevitably will get damaged!
