Place2Be
Place2Be is a school-based charity supporting children’s emotional and behavioural needs.
The School Project Manager is Daniella O’Hara and she is in school every day except Friday. Place2Be counsellors come into school to support children on a one-to-one basis.
Children and families go through many different, and sometimes difficult, life experiences. Place2Be weekly sessions offer children a safe space in which to explore and express their feelings about such experiences. A specially designated room equipped with play and creative materials help them do this.
At lunchtime a self-referral service called Place2Talk offers children an opportunity to chat with Daniella about anything they may have on their mind. Sometimes children come on their own or in a small group. It is entirely voluntary and very popular with children.
For parents/carers of children accessing Place2Be we have a Parent counsellor, Alison Ross, who offers support to parents in the Place2Be office every Friday.
If you think that you or your child could be helped by Place2Be or you would like an informal chat with Daniella to find out more about the service, please call the school office to arrange an appointment or simply drop in to school.
