War & Peace - Pop-up Museum

This week, our Y6 children hosted a Pop-up Museum to showcase the unbelievable journey through their War & Peace topic, stretching from September to December! The children showcased some phenomenal work in many areas such as history, art and English, finishing off with a brilliant musical performance of 'Run Rabbit Run' and 'We'll Meet Again'. A brilliant turn-out from parents and carers and such a wonderful opportunity for the children to share their hard work with their families.

Children in Need, 2023

Year 6 joined in 'Dress Up Day' to support Children in Need, 2023. The day was dedicated to raising awareness and having lots of fun!

History Guy - War and Peace

On Thursday, our Year 6 children had a very special visitor in school to teach them all about what life was like during the first and second world wars. The children spent the day listening to real-life stories from the wars, investigating artifacts, deciphering Morse code, completing a mission as a wartime spy, identifying planes and completing a 1940's solider's workout! A brilliant day & the children learned so much!

Boxercise

This week, our children in 6AB had the opportunity to take part in a boxercise workshop with SSP. The children learned new skills whilst having fun and keeping active for the morning. Activities included shadowboxing and training with pads, as well as some high intensity workouts. We have discovered that we have some feisty (and very talented) boxing athletes among us! (6BG and 6KP to follow).

Times Tables Rock Stars!

On Thursday this week, our KS2 children took part in a TT Rock Stars Launch Day! Our Year 6's enjoyed dressing up as rock stars, getting to grips with their new maths homework platform and challenging their peers across classes to win battles! We saw some exceptional multiplication skills across the year group, paired with some amazing outfits! Well done everyone - you are TT Rock Stars!

Dance with Me!

This week, Year 6 had the opportunity to engage in a dance workshop, run by Sunderland Schools Partnership, to brighten up their Friday afternoon! The children performed several routines, sang along to well-known, upbeat songs and waved their all-important glow sticks in an upbeat disco atmosphere. A great afternoon all-round!
